The 4^th Bilateral Political Consultations, headed by Dr. Ali Asad Gillani, Additional Secretary (Afghanistan and West Asia), took place in Ashgabat on August 25, 2025. The Turkmen side was represented by Mr. Ahmet Kurbanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, accompanied by Mr. Gurban Saparov, Head of Asia Pacific. During the discussions, political engagement, interparliamentary cooperation, trade, energy, connectivity, and defence and intelligence cooperation between Pakistan and Turkmenistan were discussed in detail. Moreover, both sides agreed on the need to increase cooperation in education, sports and the cultural domain.

Another meeting took place between the Pakistani delegation and the Turkmen Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Rashid Meredov, in which the energy projects on TAPI and TAP were discussed in detail. Pakistan and Turkmenistan also discussed ways of enhancing road and railway connectivity, and enhancing energy connectivity and trade.
