On 27th May 2026, H.E. Dr. Faryal Leghari, Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkmenistan attended an event on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha organised by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan at Arkadag City. During the event, the Muslim diplomats offered Eid prayers at Turkmenbashi Mosque, and visited Arkadag City to take part in the Eid Qurban celebrations.
The Ambassadors visited the under construction grand mosque in Arkadag City, that is an architectural marvel, with a capacity of 30,000 worshippers. Onyx from Pakistan is being used in the mosque.
The National Leader of the Turkmen People, H.E. Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, personally checked the progress and facilities of the mosque, highlighting the significance of the project for the people, especially women who would have separate praying areas.
The diplomats were then invited to a sadqa lunch. The Ambassador was interviewed by Turkmen State Television on her experience of Eid Qurban program, and the humanitarian organization spearheaded by H.E. Arkadag, and Ms. Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President and Executive Director of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship. The Ambassador thanked the Turkmen leadership for the invitation, and praised the arrangements and commendable work being done for the people, especially women and children by the humanitarian organization, recalling her earlier meeting with H.E. Ms Oguljehan Atabayeva in which she learnt of the medical and welfare support extended to children with musoskeletal disorders, as well as welfare support to their families.
