On 27^th April, 2026, H.E. Dr. Faryal Leghari called on H.E. Mr. Allaberdi Saparov, Chairman of the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of Turkmenistan. During the meeting, the Pakistan Envoy stated the need to enhance practical cooperation in Sports. Ambassador Leghari proposed joint and exchange visits of  Turkmen and Pakistani sports teams, friendly matches and mutual training opportunities in the field of football, hockey, volleyball, martial arts, swimming  and gymnastics.

         The Ambassador extended an invitation for the Chairman and other equestrian Association officials to the Shandur Polo Festival, a World renowned exciting equestrian event held annually in the cradle of the Hindukush and Karakoram mountains, clinching its spot as the highest polo match in the World.

         Pakistan and Turkmenistan's love for horses can be strengthened in bilateral exchange of equestrian performances, sharing of knowledge and skills by hosting Pakistani tentpegging, polo, and horses dancing performances, as well as participation in horse racing as a tribute to Turkmenistan's Year of the Purposeful Heavenly Horse.

         The two sides exchanged gifts and promised to work actively to further cooperation in sports.
