On 4th of June 2026, H.E. Dr. Faryal Leghari, Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkmenistan and Mian Mohammad Mansha, Chairman of Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB) and Nishat Group and accompanying delegation participated in Turkmen Textile Expo-2026.
During the sidelines, meetings of the delegation were held with H.E. Mr. Baymyrat Annamamedov, Deputy Chairman of Cabinet Minister / In charge of Construction, Energy and Industry, H.E. Mr. Nokerguly Atagulyev, Deputy Chairman of Cabinet Minister / In charge of Trade, Textile Industry and Private Sector and Mr. Nurmuhammet Orazgeldiyev, Minister of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan.
The two sides discussed ways to strengthen the trade of textile products and the opening of textile houses and companies in the respective countries. Mian Mansha of MCB/Nishat Group informed the Turkmen officials that they import Turkmen yarn, which is of high quality to use in their finished goods, especially home textiles, which are exported internationally. Mr Mansha offered to set up a production plant in Turkmenistan and trade directly with Turkmen textile houses to import their yarn without involving middlemen. Mr. Mansha also offered to set up a data center in Turkmenistan, given their feasible energy cost. He also offered to invest in the construction sector and proposed opening a branch of the Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB) in Turkmenistan. Previously, Pakistan’s National Bank was operational in Turkmenistan.
Significant proposals in trade, textile cooperation, air freight of textile products, and restarting direct air links between Pakistan and Turkmenistan were put forward to Turkmen officials.
Mr. Nokurguly and other ministers proposed for the Nishat Group to visit Turkmen textile factories and promised help in speeding and boosting the trade of textiles between Pakistan and Turkmenistan.
Mian Mansha invited the honourable ministers to visit Pakistan and work together to enhance cooperation. The Turkmen officials thanked Chairman MCB/Nishat Group and Pakistan for participating in the Textile Expo and appreciated the efforts by the Pakistan Mission to actively pursue enhanced bilateral cooperation.
