On 12th May, 2026, H.E. Dr. Faryal Leghari, Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkmenistan participated in the International Exhibition entitled “Agro Pack Turkmenistan 2026”. During the exhibition, the Ambassador met with H.E. Mr. Nokerguly Atagulyev, Deputy Chairman of Cabinet Minister / In charge of Trade, Textile Industry and Private Sector. The Deputy Chairman of Cabinet Minister apprised the Ambassador of the upcoming Turkmen Textile Expo from
04-06 June, 2026 and invited Pakistani Textile companies to participate in the Textile Expo. H.E Mr. Atagulyev said that Turkmenistan-Pakistan cooperation in textiles was good but needs to be strengthened. The Ambassador informed the Deputy Chairman of Cabinet of Minister that due to regional situation and austerity measures, unfortunately no official delegation is able to come this year. However Pakistani Textile companies are participating privately and the Embassy is coordinating and facilitating their visit. Pakistan Ministry of Commerce has planned a large Textile delegation to attend the Expo next year.
Pakistan Textile sector already imports high-quality yarn and grey cloth from Turkmenistan and would like to export Pakistani fabric, home textiles and apparel to Turkmenistan in the near future.
There is significant potential to increase bilateral engagement in the Textile sector. The Ambassador invited H.E. Mr. Nokerguly Atagulyev and Turkmen Textile manufacturers to Pakistan to participate in Textile Exhibitions and Fairs, which would take place on the sidelines during the visit of H.E. Mr. Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, scheduled later for this year.
