The Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Ambassador Kamran Akhtar, delivered Pakistan’s national statement at the extraordinary session of the IAEA’s Board of Governors, held on 16 June 2025, to consider Israel’s blatant attacks on the peaceful nuclear facilities of Iran.
It termed these attacks as a grave violation of international law and called for the immediate cessation of hostilities. 

It cautioned that impunity or tolerance for illegal use of force by Israel sets a dangerous precedent that will come to haunt the entire international community. IAEA’s verification must be supported, not disrupted, and an established IAEA and UN mechanism for addressing the Iranian Nuclear issue should be requested.
