"Youm-e-Istehsal" Kashmir Observed at the Embassy of Pakistan in Vienna to Mark India's Illegal & Unilateral Actions of 5 August 2019

Today on 5 August 2026, Embassy of Pakistan in Vienna organized an event to observe #YoumEIstehsal, expressing steadfast solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). The gathering highlighted severe human rights violations since India's illegal & unilateral actions of 5 Aug 2019.

Messages from the President, Prime Minister,  Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read during the event, reiterating Pakistan’s moral, diplomatic, and political commitment to the IIOJK people’s struggle for self-determination.

Ambassador Mohammad Kamran Akhtar, in his remarks, called for a UN-supervised investigation into extrajudicial killings in IIOJK & full implementation of UNSC resolutions. He stressed the need to mobilize global support against systemic abuses in IIOJK.

Speakers incl. Dr Izzat Awad (Egyptian scholar) & Prof. Shaukat Mussarat Awan (Chairman, Kashmir Affairs Committee, Vienna) stressed just resolution of #IIOJK issue per UNSCR resolutions—reflecting global support for Kashmiris.

The event was attended by Pakistani community members and the Kashmiri diaspora in Austria & Slovakia. Participants unanimously called on the international community to unite against human rights violations and the illegal occupation of IIOJK by India.
