The Ambassador of Pakistan to the Arab Republic of Egypt called on the President of the Egyptian Football Association, Engr. Hany Abu Rida, in Cairo today to discuss avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of football and sports diplomacy.
During the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed the warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations of the people of Pakistan to Engr. Abu Rida on Egypt’s exceptional performance and remarkable achievements at the recently concluded FIFA World Cup. He commended the Egyptian Football Association for its leadership and contribution to the development of football in the country.
As a gesture of solidarity, friendship, and appreciation, the Ambassador presented a Trionda football, proudly manufactured in Pakistan, symbolizing Pakistan’s internationally recognized sporting goods industry and the enduring bonds between the two countries.
The two sides exchanged views on potential areas of collaboration in football, including technical cooperation, capacity building, youth development, and the promotion of people-to-people contacts through sports. They also explored opportunities to learn from each other’s experiences and expertise with a view to fostering stronger institutional linkages and further deepening the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Egypt.
