To commemorate 85th Pakistan Day, the Embassy of Pakistan, Beirut, hosted a Reception in a local hotel on 17th April 2025. The Reception was attended, inter alia, by the Lebanese Ministers, Members of Parliament, Officers of Lebanese Armed Forces, former Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, prominent Lebanese citizens from various walks of life, media representatives and members of Pakistani community. Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs H.E. Ms. Haneen El Sayed was the Chief Guest on the Occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, H.E. Ambassador Salman Athar emphasized the significance of the Pakistan Resolution in the struggle for independence and how it provided a clear path for the Muslims of the subcontinent towards achieving a homeland where they could enjoy freedom and a distinct identity. He also highlighted the pivotal role played by Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in leading the freedom movement. Additionally, the Ambassador expressed solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine, reaffirming Pakistan's unwavering moral, political, and diplomatic support for their just cause of self-determination.
The Ambassador also reiterated the commitment of the Government of Pakistan to strengthen the bilateral relations with the brotherly Republic of Lebanon. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity by stating that the Government and people of Pakistan will continue to stand in solidarity with the people of Lebanon and for their right to live in peace and security.
