H.E. Mr. Salman Athar assumed the charge of Ambassador of Pakistan to the Republic of Lebanon with concurrent accreditation to Republic of Cyprus on 27^th March 2022.

He Joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 2002. He served at Headquarters in various capacities as Assistant Director, Director and Director General. He held various diplomatic assignments in Pakistan Missions abroad including the United Arab Emirates, Singapore and Oman.

He holds degrees in B.Sc Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Arts and LLB.

He is married with two children.
