Amidst the continued indiscriminate Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the Palestinian people are facing an escalating humanitarian crisis and are in dire need of assistance.
In response to this worsening humanitarian catastrophe, the Government of Pakistan has dispatched the sixth humanitarian relief consignment, which includes 40 tons of life-saving medicines, to support the Palestinian people and alleviate their suffering.
The relief plane arrived at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman today, where it was handed over by the Ambassador of Pakistan to Jordan and Palestine, Maj Gen (Retd) Muhammad Ajmal Iqbal, to the Director General of the Jordanian Royal Medical Services, Brigadier General Dr. Yousef Zureikat. The event was attended by Dr. Wadah Kilany, Grneral Coordinator of the "Al-Khidmat" branch in Jordan, along with prominent figures and members of the Jordanian Armed Forces.
In his speech, the Pakistani Ambassador emphasized that this consignment symbolizes the profound solidarity the people of Pakistan have for their Palestinian brothers and sisters, reaffirming Pakistan's historical commitment to supporting the Palestinian struggle for an independent state, as per the 1967 resolutions. He also praised Jordan's role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in supporting the Palestinian cause on the international stage and ensuring that humanitarian aid reaches the besieged people of Gaza, despite numerous challenges.
Dr. Wadah Kilany expressed his pride in the humanitarian partnership with the Jordanian Royal Medical Services and commended "Al-Khidmat" for its commitment to providing humanitarian assistance across various sectors. He confirmed that this shipment is part of ongoing efforts to send further aid to the people of Gaza, in cooperation with Jordan.
This aid is part of the continuous cooperation between Pakistan and Jordan to alleviate the humanitarian suffering in Gaza, reflecting the strong ties between the two nations and their shared commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause in these challenging times.
