Pakistan Embassy Stockholm organized a commemorative event to observe Kashmir Black Day at the Chancery. Notables of community including Kashmiri diaspora attended the event in large numbers. Messages by the leadership on the occasion were read out to the audience.
The President and the Chairman of the Kashmir Council Sweden, an association of overseas Kashmiris from both sides of the borders, spoke at the event. In their remarks, they appreciated Pakistan’s principled position regarding the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They also commended the sacrifices of civilians and armed forces of Pakistan made in pursuit of the just right of the Kashmiris to self-determination.
Addressing the audience, Ambassador Bilal Hayee reiterated Pakistan’s continued diplomatic, moral and political support to the Kashmiri brethren. Emphasizing cultural, religious, geographical and spiritual linkages between Pakistan and Kashmir, he called upon the international community especially the United Nations to play its due role in resolving this festering dispute. He assured that the will of the Kashmiri brothers and sisters will prevail and one day, God Willing, Kashmir will become Pakistan.
