To commemorate the 77th Independence Day of Pakistan, a Flag-Hoisting ceremony was organized at the Consulate General of Pakistan, Milan. The event was well-attended by a diverse group of community members, including children, women, and local leaders.
- The ceremony commenced with a recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the hoisting of the National flag by the Consul General on the National anthem. Messages from Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif were read by Deputy Consul Ahmad Waleed and Immigration Liaison Officer Asmat Ullah Junejo, respectively. This was followed by the message from President Asif Ali Zardari, delivered by Consul General Aqsa Nawaz.
- In her address, Consul General paid tribute to the exemplary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and honoured the sacrifices made by millions of Muslims in the subcontinent 77 years ago. She emphasized their unwavering struggle that led to the establishment of a separate homeland for Muslims in the region. Furthermore, she acknowledged the ongoing struggles of the people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine, extending prayers for their independence.
- The program featured a performance by a group of Pakistani children, who presented a patriotic mili naghma. The ceremony concluded with a prayer and a cake-cutting ceremony to celebrate the occasion.
