On the eve of 78th Independence Anniversary of Pakistan, a flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan, Beirut, which was attended by members of the Pakistani community and the Embassy staff and their families. The event also saw the participation of Lebanese citizens from various walks of life, reflecting the strong bond of friendship between Pakistan and Lebanon.
The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by the Ambassador of Pakistan, accompanied by the national anthem. Messages from the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were also read out, highlighting the significance of the day and the nation's commitment to its founding principles.
While addressing the guests, the Ambassador felicitated the Pakistani community in Lebanon on the occasion of Pakistan’s 78th Independence anniversary. Paying tribute to the leaders of Pakistan Movement, the Ambassador highlighted the arduous struggle that ultimately secured a separate homeland for the Muslims of Sub-Continent. Every 14 August serves as a reminder of the great sacrifices they rendered to protect our rights and preserve our religious, cultural, social values, and economic prosperity.
The Ambassador also lauded Pakistan’s great victory in Marka-e-Haq during the war imposed by India on 6-10th May 2025. He said that has not only increased the significance of freedom for Pakistanis, but has also invigorated a new ambition and enthusiasm in the hearts of Pakistanis which has magnified the celebrations of the Independence Day. The Ambassador further stated that with the blessings of Almighty Allah, our brave armed forces in their fight against India revived their past glory and shattered the false pride of enemy.
On this important occasion, the Ambassador also expressed solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK), reaffirming Pakistan's unwavering moral, political, and diplomatic support for their just cause of self-determination. On Pakistan-Lebanon relations, the Ambassador mentioned that both countries enjoy close fraternal relations in bilateral and multilateral spheres, underpinned by shared perceptions on several international issues. He hoped that the bilateral relations between the two countries would continue to grow in the years ahead.
At the end, special prayers were offered for progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
