The Embassy of Pakistan hosted a flag hoisting ceremony to celebrate the 77^th Anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence Day. On the occasion, Ambassador Mohammed Kamran Akhtar Malik read out the messages of the President and the Prime Minister and hoisted the national flag.

Ambassador Akhtar paid tribute to the struggle of Pakistan’s founding fathers and recalled the nation’s commitment towards realizing the vision of Quaid-e-Azam in building Pakistan as a progressive and a forward-looking Islamic country. He also underscored Pakistan's steadfast commitment to peace and stability. He further highlighted the country’s dedicated efforts to continue strengthening bilateral ties which Pakistan enjoys with Austria and Slovakia. He also reiterated Pakistan’s support for the people in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) who are continuing their struggle for their right of self-determination.

The celebrations were attended by prominent community members and representatives of the diaspora in Austria and Slovakia. They reiterated their commitment to redouble efforts for the continued security, prosperity and development of the country.

The event concluded with prayers for the prosperity and progress of Pakistan.
