Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs visited Bangkok to attend 14th ACD Ministerial Meeting on 8-10 March 2016. The meeting was attended by 18 Foreign Ministers, deputy Foreign Ministers and senior officials of 34 ACD member states. The Ministerial Retreat took place under the theme "ACD - The Way Forward", and focused on formulating common vision for ACD as well as ways and means to further expand cooperation in the future. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Chaired and facilitated the Ministerial Retreat. Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Adviser, in his statement, highlighted potential of the Asian countries in the 21st century and urged member countries to overcome future challenges through increased cooperation. The Advisor supported the idea of undertaking a detailed study to evolve ACD Vision and subsequently preparing the blueprint of action for adoption at the 2nd ACD Summit. The Advisor also held bilateral meetings with his counterpart from Thailand and Sri Lanka. Ambassador Sohail Khan accompanied the Advisor in all meetings.
