To commemorate the Independence Day of Pakistan, a flag-hoisting ceremony
was organized at the Consulate General of Pakistan, Milan. The event was well
attended by a diverse group of members of the Pakistani community, including
children and women, as well as local leader’s of minority groups.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by
the hoisting of the national flag to the accompaniment of the National Anthem.
Messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Pakistan
were read out on the occasion.
Consul General Mr. Murad Baseer felicitated the Pakistani community on
Independence Day and recalled the sacrifices made by the founders of Pakistan in the struggle for independence.
In his address, the Consul General emphasized the importance of hard work,
dedication and collective efforts by all citizens for the progress and
development of the country. He also emphasized on capacity building of the
Pakistani diaspora through education and skills that will enable them to become
useful members of the Italian society.
The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and prayers for the peace,
progress, and prosperity of Pakistan.
