A photo exhibition commemorating the Youmn-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir was organized at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Milan today. The gathering attracted a significant number of Pakistanis, including students and activists, who united to condemn the illegal and unilateral actions taken by India on August 5, 2019.
- Following the recitation of the Holy Quran, messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out by the Deputy Consul, Ahmad Waleed, and Immigration Liaison Officer, Asmat Ullah Junejo. In her remarks, Consul General, Aqsa Nawaz, highlighted the Indian government's unsuccessful attempts to internalize the Kashmir dispute since August 5, 2019. She condemned the actions aimed at altering the demographic structure of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), including the issuance of domiciles to non-Kashmiris, electoral gerrymandering, the banning of Kashmiri political parties, and the unlawful detention of political activists.
- The event also addressed the human rights abuses perpetrated by Indian forces in IIOJK, such as the so-called search and cordon operations and the use of pellet guns to disperse peaceful gatherings. A documentary showcasing the illegal actions and human rights violations committed by the Indian government since August 5, 2019, was also presented to the audience.
- The program concluded with a prayer and a reaffirmation of the commitment from the Government and people of Pakistan to support their Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their rightful struggle for self-determination, in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions.
