 On Friday, 1st November 2024, Acting Consul General, Mr. Agha Hunain Abbas Khan, made an official visit to Sichuan University.

2024年11月1日 (星期五) ，代总领事胡楠先生对四川大学进行了正式访问。

There, Mr. Agha met with Vice President Zhao Changsheng, and senior representatives of the university.

在那里，胡楠先生会见了赵长生副校长和学校的高级代表。

 Sichuan University is one of the most prestigious universities in China, let alone Sichuan, with an international, open minded, and research driven outlook, the university is home to close to 100,000 students and faculty, making it one of the largest universities in all of China.

四川大学是中国最负盛名的大学之一，更不用说在四川了，它具有国际化、开放的思想和以研究为导向的前景，这所大学拥有近10万名学生和教师，是中国最大的大学之一。

During the meeting, Vice President Zhao gave a comprehensive overview of the university, its disciplines, research areas of interest, and also bilateral relations between the university and Pakistan.

在会见中，赵副校长全面介绍了该校的学科、研究领域以及学校与巴基斯坦的双边关系。

 In his remarks, Acting Consul General thanked Prof Zhao and Sichuan University for their continued support to Pakistan, in the form of academic,

 hosting Pakistani students, and also being the home of the Pakistan Study Centre, which forms a key focal point for expanding and

deepening bilateral relations with Sichuan and the wider South West Region. Both sides agreed to keep in communication and try to come up with more innovative ways to foster upgraded bilateral ties.

代总领事在致辞中感谢赵教授和四川大学一直以来对巴基斯坦的支持，包括在学术上的支持、接待巴基斯坦学生，以及作为巴基斯坦研究中心的所在地，巴基斯坦研究中心是扩大和深化与四川和更广泛的西南地区的双边关系的关键焦点。双方同意保持沟通，努力为两国关系提质升级提出更多创新方案。

 Afterwards, Mr. Agha met with Prof Song Zhihai, outgoing Dean

of the Pakistan Study Center, at the School of International Relations, and also interacted with Pakistani students studying at the university.

随后，胡楠先生在国际关系学院会见了即将离任的巴基斯坦研究中心主任宋志辉教授，并与在该校学习的巴基斯坦学生进行了互动。

Mr. Agha applauded Prof Song's stewardship of the center for the past many years, and highlighted some of his major achievements, including mobilizing businesses and individuals to help Pakistan during the 2022 country wide flooding, where almost one third of Pakistan was submerged.

 While interacting with the students, it was learnt that they were well taken care of, fully immersed in their studies, and seeking more interactions with the Consulate.
