(Tokyo, 22 August 2024): The Embassy of Pakistan organized a Festival showcasing exquisite Pakistani mangoes. Ambassador Raza Bashir Tarar highlighted the significance of mangoes in Pakistan’s cultural and economic fabric. He expressed pride in the quality of Pakistani mangoes, which have become a symbol of excellence on the global stage.
The event organized in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, MG Agri Foods and Wash in Trading drew an array of distinguished guests, including diplomats, business leaders, agricultural experts, and leading trading houses of Japan. The participants praised the high quality of Pakistani mangoes and were enthralled by the taste of entrees, desserts and beverages made from Pakistani mangoes.
Over the years, Pakistan, renowned for producing over 400 varieties of mangoes has established itself as one of the leading exporters of mangoes across the globe.
The Japanese market, in particular, has seen a noticeable increase in demand for Pakistani mangoes owing to their superior quality, rich taste, and extended shelf life. In 2023, 87-million-yen worth of Pakistani mangoes were exported to Japan.
Events like the Mango Festival help boost Pakistan’s exports and dovetail with cultural diplomacy.
