Event to Commemorate the 80th Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at the Embassy of Pakistan in Vienna

Today, on 14 August 2026, the Embassy of Pakistan in Vienna hosted an event to commemorate the 80th Independence Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The occasion was attended by Embassy officers and officials, as well as members of the Pakistani community in Austria and Slovakia, reflecting their enduring dedication and commitment to their homeland.
The commemorative event was marked by a flag hoisting ceremony performed by His Excellency Mohammad Kamran Akhtar, Ambassador of Pakistan to Austria. On this momentous occasion, official messages from the Honorable President, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were also read to the gathering.
In his remarks, Ambassador Kamran Akhtar paid tribute to the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, as well as the profound struggles and sacrifices of our forefathers for a separate homeland. He called upon the community to reaffirm their collective resolve to advance as a democratic, progressive nation, drawing inspiration from the foundational visions and ideals of Pakistan. Furthermore, the Ambassador emphasized the vital need for peace and prosperity both across South Asia and globally. He concluded by urging the Pakistani community to remain resilient against all challenges and to continue contributing dedicatedly towards a prosperous and peaceful Pakistan.
