Ambassador of Pakistan, Mohammad Kamran Akhtar delivered Pakistan’s National Statement today during IAEA Board Of Governors Meeting on matters related to the Iranian nuclear programme. The Ambassador appreciated the recently concluded agreement between Iran and the Agency on the resumption of Safeguards application in Iran.
He also added that Pakistan has maintained that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path forward to address issues and that all parties should remain open to dialogue and negotiations, with due respect to the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of all sides.
Ambassador Akhtar underscored the inadmissibility of attacks on nuclear facilities devoted to peaceful uses under international law and as per relevant UN Resolutions, as well as DG’s reports on the subject.
