The The visit was at the invitation of H.E. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

During their visit, the delegation met with President H.E. Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister H.E. Ali Asadov. Delegation-level talks took place with Speaker Milli Majlis H.E. Sahiba Gafarova.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the robust cooperation between their parliaments at international forums. They also explored avenues to further strengthen the fraternal ties between the people of Pakistan and Azerbaijan.

The Honorable Speaker expressed his gratitude to the leadership and people of Azerbaijan for their unwavering principled diplomatic and moral support against India's continued occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. He acknowledged President Ilham Aliyev’s visionary leadership and the sacrifices made by the valiant Armed Forces and the brave people of Azerbaijan for the liberation of Karabakh. The Speaker reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for Azerbaijan’s endeavors to promote peace and stability in the region.

The Honorable Speaker also expressed his gratitude for Azerbaijan’s strong support of Pakistan during the Indian aggression in May. He emphasized that Pakistan aspires to maintain peace in its region, while India's hegemonic policies remain a source of concern. The Speaker also drew attention to the Modi regime’s attempt to use water as a means of terrorism against Pakistan by unilaterally and illegally abrogating the Indus Water Treaty.

The Honorable Speaker congratulated the Government of Azerbaijan for successfully hosting the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) on 4th July in liberated Khankendi.
