The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Asif Ali Zardari undertook an official visit to Doha, State of Qatar, from 3–6 November 2025 to participate in the Second World Summit for Social Development.
In his address at Summit on November 04, the President underlined need for enhanced global cooperation aimed at achieving social justice, equality, and human dignity. He urged for an inclusive and reformed global financial architecture to support social development, especially in the Global South. He also highlighted Pakistan’s achievements in the areas of poverty eradication, health, education and sustainable development.
On the sidelines, the President had productive meetings with the United Nations Secretary General, the President of Tajikistan, the President of Iraq and the Vice President of China.
On bilateral front, the President held important meetings with the Qatari leadership.
A meeting between the President and His Highness the Amir of Qatar took place on November 5, 2025. The meeting covered entire gamut of bilateral relationship and both leaders resolved to enhance cooperation in investment, trade, defence, as well as peace and security in the region and beyond.
The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani called on the honorable President of Pakistan on November 04, 2025. Both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration through mutually beneficial economic initiatives.
H.E Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of State on Defence of the State of Qatar also paid a courtesy call on the President. Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of State on Defence commended the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and underscored his country’s commitment to deepening defence relations with Pakistan.
First Lady Ms. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, accompnied the President, met H.H Sheikha Moza bint Nasser Al-Missned, Chairperson of the Qatar Foundation for Education Science and Community Development. She also held a meeting with Mr. Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi, CEO, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA). On the sidelines of the Summit, she attended the Third Edition of the Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Global Award for Women’s Empowerment.
The President’s participation in the Summit reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to the UN-led social development goals and their integration into our national policies.
High-level bilateral engagements of the President with the Qatari leadership reaffirmed the strong and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Qatar and are reflective of the significance accorded to the relationship between two countries.
