Muhammad Mudassir Tipu is serving as Ambassador to Iran since October 2023. He Has also served as Additional Secretary and DG( Americas) and DG ( China)  at the Foreign Ministry between 2019 and 2023 .  

In other foreign assignments , he has been CG (Chengdu) China and has served as Political Counsellor/ First Secretary in the Embassies of Pakistan in Washington and Beijing . Earlier on he served at a Third Secretary in the Embassy of Pakistan Tokyo . 

He has also been Director General Punjab Board of Investment & Trade.  

He is an Oxford graduate and has been Editor of various magazines and has been a speaker at the World Economic Forum , Geneva. 

He has also extensively written on a range of issues in the Pakistani and international newspapers and has been a speaker at various prestigious international forums and universities .
