Syed Ahsan Raza Shah, born in 1968, is a seasoned diplomat who joined Pakistan Foreign Service in 1993. Since then, he has held various positions at Headquarters from Section Officer to Additional Secretary.  He has also served as Director General in the President's Secretariat.

Prior to assumption of the rank of Ambassador, he served at Pakistan Missions in Colombo, Riyadh, Kabul, Abu Dhabi and Glasgow.

He remained Pakistan's Ambassador to Qatar from 2019 to 2022; and is currently serving as High Commissioner to Malaysia since August 2023.
