Machine Readable Passports (MRPs)
Machine Readable Passports (MRPs) are issued in conformity with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. Ever since the installation of Machine Readable Passport (MRP) facility at the Pakistan Embassy of Bangkok, issuance of manual passports has been phased out. Machine Readable Passport (MRP) are currently being issued from Embassy of Pakistan Bangkok.
MRP office operates on the principal of live data capturing so applicants’ presence (with required documents) is compulsory to process the application.
Applicants’ data entry, photo, signature and biometrics are done by trained MRP staff using latest technology.

Machine Readable Passport (MRP) system uses the data from National Database and Registration Authority’s (NADRA) system and MRP application can only be processed if applicant has one of the following valid original documents issued by NADRA:
- Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC)
- National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP)
- Smart National ID Card
- Computerized Child Registration Certificate (CRC/Form B) for under 18 years applicants only

Machine Readable Passport (MRP) application processing requirements are different for adults and children. Please go through the relevant section carefully before visiting the Embassy for processing of your MRP application as all documents listed under each category are mandatory and our staff will not be able to process your application if the requirements are not fully met.
- Get an online appointment for processing of your passport application.
- The applicant should be in possession of original valid CNIC, Passport & CRC/Smart Card in case of the minors, along with their copies.
- First time passport can only be issued in Pakistan for the nationals born in Pakistan or the Embassy of Pakistan in the respective country where any Pakistani national or entitled person is born.
- If an applicant is applying for his/her 1stMRP at Pakistan Embassy Bangkok, his/her casewill be referred for National Status from Pakistan.
- Please, come to the Embassy for processing of your Passport application as per the Date & Time you are booked by online appointment.Please also bring your required documents in original and valid along with its photo copies.
- If an applicant has made an Asylum request in Thailand, his/her application will be processed as per rules covering the asylum cases.
- Please bring all the original & valid documents along with the Photo Copies for processing of Passport for your children, there should be separate sets for every child.
- Presence of the parent is must for processing of MRP application for children. Please bring CRC/NADRA Smart along copies of Bank fee and parents CNICs.
- For any kind of modification/Changes in your passport, please 1stget modification your CRC/CNIC from NADRA and then come to MRP Section for Passport.Copy of revised CRC/CNIC is must for modification.
- No Passport Applications will be entertained of non-entitled persons.
- MRP applications of senior citizens will be processed on priority basis.
- A minor seeking passport shall be accompanied by either of the parents, alongwith their original CNIC or PPTs.
- In case the parents of the minor are divorced or separated, and an application for Passport is made by either of the parentsin r/o a minor a Passport will be issued if the applicant is the custodial parent.
- In case the parents of the minor are divorced or separated, and an application for Passport is made by either of the parents in r/o a minor a Passport will be issued subject to explicit permission of the other parent in the shape of his/her physical presence or consent on duly attested non-judicial stamp paper.
Notice:
- The use of cell phones is not allowed at MRP section, filming of any kind of audio and Videos are also illegal and strictly prohibited at MRP section
- All the required papers for MRP should be valid and in original along with the Photocopies please
- Collection of passports will be in person or to any Blood relative (Parents, Siblings or Adult son and Daughter) dully authorized by the applicant. (Subject to proof of identity)
Lost Passport
In case you have lost your Passport, you can apply for reissuance of your Machine Readable Passport (MRP).
Following documents are required for processing an application:
- Photocopy of Lost Passport. Please log on to “Report my Loss” and complete the loss report and take a print.
- Police report from the local police.
- Production of one of the following, original and validNADRA Cards along with its photocopy:
- Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC)
- National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP)
- Smart National ID Card
- Previously lost passport (if available)

- Machine Readable Passports (MRPs) can be collected from MRP section of theEmbassy
- Applicants need to collect their passports in person. However, to facilitate the families, only one family member can come to collect the MRPs issued for all his / her family members.
- After collection of MRP each holder is required to put his signature or thumb impression in the given box on page 2 of the passport.
Important Note:
All applicants are advised to collect their passports on due date otherwise your Passports will be destroyed as per existing policy.

Child Endorsement on Machine Readable Passport (MRP)
Machine Readable Passport (MRP) is issued in conformity with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. According to the ICAO standards child endorsement is not allowed on parent’s passport. Therefore child endorsement will not be done on the parents’ machine readable passport. Instead of this; children (even under 18 years) will be issued a separate Machine Readable Passport (MRP)
Emergency Travel Documents (Out Pass)
- Emergency Travel Document (ETD) is issued to the Pakistani nationals for travelling back to Pakistan only in extreme emergency cases when their Pakistani Passport is not available OR they are not eligible for issuance of a new passport / renewal of passport.
- Proof of emergency (for example serious illness or death of immediate family member)
- Duly filled and signed application form
- Four recent identical passport size photographs with white background
- Original Expired Pakistani Passport with its photocopy
- In case Pakistani passport is lost, copy of Lost Passport with Police Report confirming loss of passport
- Air ticket booking
- Valid NADRA Card and its photocopy
- In case applicant is under 18 years old, both parents need to accompany the applicant along with their original identity documents and detailed birth certificate of the minor applicant
- An Affidavit stating:
- When applicant last entered the Thailand
- In which visa category he / she was granted the entry
- Explanation of circumstance of his / her overstay, in case applicant has remained in the UK after expiry of his / her visa
- That there is no case pending with Home Office OR Police. IF applicant has a pending case with Home Office he /she needs to produce one of the followings:
- A copy of Home Office Letter showing Case Reference number
- Home Office letter of refusal
