Ambassador Arshad Jan met Mr. Gigel Paraschiv, Secretary of State, Ministry of Education of Romania at the Ministry of Education today. Matters of mutual interests were discussed during the meeting.

The Secretary of State appreciated the interest of Pakistani students in educational institutions of Romania. He further proposed that interested Pakistani students may seek admissions in Oil and Gas University in Ploiesti which has expertise in energy sector. It was also agreed that the number of scholarships for the students from both countries in the medicine, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare technologies should be increased for graduate, post-graduate and Ph.D programmes.

Both the governments have agreed to sign the ‘Programme of Cooperation’ in the Fields of Education, Science, Culture, Mass-Media, Youth and Sports at the earliest. The Programme of Cooperation shall further strengthen collaboration in the fields of Science & Technology, Petrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Space and Security, energy, Environment and Climate Change.
