Ambassador Hasan Ali Zaigham visited Jalal-Abad on 26-27 December 2024 to participate in the inaugural ceremony of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan (CKU) railway project on the invitation of Kyrgyz Government. The ceremony was attended by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, Mr. Zheng Shanjie, Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Special Envoy, Mr. Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Uzbekistan, Ministers and senior officials of the Kyrgyz government, members of the diplomatic corps and media.

Addressing on the occasion, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov made the following important points:

• Construction of this project will open a new era in the development of the region’s transport infrastructure. This Railway line was not only a transport corridor but an important strategic bridge that will connect the countries of the East and West.
• The new railway corridor will become the southern link of the Eurasian continental bridge, opening the way to the markets of Southeast, West Asia and the Middle East. This route will ensure the delivery of goods from China to Kyrgyzstan, as well as to the countries of Central Asia and the Middle East, including Turkey and further to the European Union.
• The project will strengthen interregional ties, help diversify transport routes and increase the region’s competitiveness as an international transport and transit hub, which was in line with the development goals of the Central Asian countries.

During his stay at Jalal-Abad, Ambassador Hasan Ali Zaigham met with Mr. Tilek Tekebaev Plenipotentiary Representative of the President for Jalal-Abad region, Mr. Maadanbek Karaev, Head of the Regional Branch of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic. In addition, he also visited Jalal-Abad State University to meet faculty and Pakistani students.
