Ambassador Ilyas Nizami paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ms. Corina Calugaru, State Secretary , Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, on 26 May 2026.  The meeting took place, following his presentation of credentials as the concurrently accredited Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova. 

Ambassador Nizami felicitated Ambassador Calugaru on her recent assumption of the office of State Secretary.

Both sides took stock of the current state of bilateral relations, and explored the opportunities for their expansion. They expressed satisfaction over the present level of support to each other’s candidatures at various multilateral forums. They also agreed to enhance bilateral political dialogue.
