A community gathering to commemorate Kashmir Black Day was organized today in the Embassy of Pakistan, Bishkek. Each year, October 27th is observed as Kashmir Black Day to mark protest and resentment by Kashmiris around the world in commemorating the forced occupation by Indian security forces of the Jammu & Kashmir valley. At the start of the program, special short documentaries were screened, which highlighted various aspects, including the international legal and human rights dimension, of the Kashmir dispute. The programme also featured a photo exhibition highlighting human rights abuses of the people of Kashmir at the hands of Indian security forces. In CdA's remarks on the occasion, he shed light on the Jammu & Kashmir dispute, particularly the post-August 5 situation. He clarified the perceptions about the dubious instrument of accession by Maharaja of Kashmir. He cited the recent reports by international organizations and media outlets which expressed serious concerns over the unconscionable lockdown of the Kashmiri population. He also reaffirmed Pakistan's continued and unflinching moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir. Messages of the President and Prime Minister were also delivered on the occasion. The event was attended by a large number of Pakistani community members living in Bishkek and students from different medical universities.
