The Mission organized a Flag Hoisting Ceremony and a Community event at the Chancery to commemorate Pakistan Day in Bishkek. It was attended by prominent representatives of the Pakistani diaspora, student fraternity as well as the Embassy’s staff.

 

The ceremony began with the recitation from the Holy Quran. This was followed by the national flag being raised by the Head of Mission. Messages of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar were read out to the audience. Special prayers were offered for the peace, progress and prosperity of the homeland.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Hasan Ali Zaigham gave a brief overview of recent progress in Kyrgyz-Pakistan relations and expressed confidence that the relationship would continue to flourish in the coming years based on solid foundations laid by various bilateral consultation mechanisms. He also briefed the Embassy about the initiatives to improve consular services and steps taken by the Mission towards community welfare. He felicitated the newly appointed Kyrgyz Honorary Consul in Lahore, Mehr Kashif Younas and conveyed his best wishes for his success. The ceremony ended with prayers for peace and prosperity in Pakistan.
