An opportunity to showcase rich Pakistani culture and cuisine was given at the annual Nowruz festival in Bishkek today. During the festivities traditional Pakistani folk dances from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Attan) and Gilgit-Baltistan were performed by Pakistani students. Foreign Minister, Mr. Chingiz Azamatovich Aidarbekov and Adviser to the President, Mr. Azyrankulov Aibek Dzhanybekovich came to the Pakistani stall and sampled our cuisine. Foreign Minister also conveyed warm message for Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on the Nowruz festival and expressed his keen desire to welcome him twice in the next three months. As part of the celebrations, city-wide events, including traditional music and dance performances, public feasts, and sports events were organized. Embassy of Pakistan along with other diplomatic missions took part in the annual charity fair organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. The stand of the Embassy of Pakistan in the charity fair which offered national cuisine like Pulau, Chat, Samosa, Pakora and Chai attracted large number of people. The funds collected from the fair were donated to Orphanage for helping orphans and low-income families. A large number of Pakistani community members wearing traditional dresses attended the event.
