On 19th June 2025, the Opening Ceremony of the 9th China South Asia Expo (Expo) took place, at the Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center, Kunming.

The Expo is one of the largest expos in China, and the only one dedicated to fostering deeper ties with South Asian Countries. Last year, over the course of the six days , around 445,000 people attended, and more than 2000 exhibitors were displaying their goods and products, and this year with over 54 countries and regions attending, it is expected to also attract large numbers of visitors.

The Consulate General of Pakistan, in Chengdu, once again, ensured that Pakistan had one of the largest booths allocated to any participating country at the Expo, with 140 booths, and over 340 exhibitors, showing unique Pakistani cultural products such as wooden furniture, hand made carpets, brass ornaments, gems and jewelry etc.

Consul General Mr. Tanvir Ahmad Bhatti visited the Pakistan Area in Hall No. 8, of the Expo Center, inspected the booths, and met with the exhibitors, as well as officials and representatives from trading bodies of Pakistan, such as Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), and Karachi Chamber of Commerce, and ensured complete support of the Consulate in their facilitation, and continued participation.

Deputy Consul General, as well as members of the Consulate were also present.
