A community gathering to commemorate the Kashmir Black Day, while complying with the SOP’s for the pandemic, was organized today at the Embassy of Pakistan, Bishkek. Each year, October 27 is observed as Kashmir Black Day to mark protest and resentment by Kashmiris around the globe commemorating the forced occupation by Indian security forces of the Jammu and Kashmir Valley. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out on the occasion. The programme also featured a photo exhibition highlighting human rights abuses of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) at the hands of Indian occupation forces. Ambassador Sardar Azhar Tariq Khan in his remarks shed light on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, particularly the post August 05, 2019 situation when Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government put the peace of the entire world in perils by abrogating Article 370 of the Indian Constitution that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir and annexing it with India by dividing IIOJ&K into two federally administered union territories - Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. After repealing the Article 370, New Delhi put the illegally occupied territory under strict military siege, confining millions of Kashmiris to their homes and arresting thousands. He also clarified the historical perceptions about the dubious instrument of accession and cited the recent reports by international/HR organizations and media outlets which expressed serious concerns over the unconscionable lockdown of the Kashmiri population. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued and unflinching moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The event was attended by a large number of Pakistani community members living in Bishkek and students belonging to Azad Kashmir studying in different medical universities.   Bishkek 27 October, 2020
