On the occasion of Pakistan Day, community gathering and flag hoisting ceremony were held at the Embassy today. It was attended by a large number of community members, locals, students and officials of the Embassy along with their families. The ceremony began with the recitation from the Holy Quran. The national flag was hoisted by the Head of Mission. The messages of President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan were read out on this occasion. Special prayers were offered for the peace, progress and prosperity of the homeland. The Head of Mission, in his address highlighted the historical significance of this day and paid homage to the founding fathers of Pakistan whose services and sacrifices led to the creation of Pakistan. Expressing sympathies with the valiant people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), he said that we as a nation feel saddened to see our Kashmiri brethren in IIOJK being subjected to the worst kind of oppression and ruthless state terrorism. The tyranny unleashed against innocent civilians has crossed all limits in total disregard to the international norms and the values of humanity and has endangered the peace of the region. The Head of Mission commended the positive role played by overseas Pakistanis in Bishkek. He advised the community to conduct themselves in a way to bring a good name to their motherland. While paying tribute to health workers and other concerned agencies, the Head of Mission urged the community members to follow all SOPs concerning Covid-19. Bishkek, 23 March 2021
