Ambassador briefs Lord Muhammad Sheikh, Member of UK House of Lords over alarming security and human rights situation in Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IoJ&K)

Upon Ambassador Dr. Irfan Yusuf Shami’s request, The Lord Muhammad Sheikh, Member of House of Lords of UK, visited the Embassy of Pakistan in Tashkent this afternoon. The Lord Sheikh was briefed in detail about the ongoing alarming security and human rights situation in Indian-Occupied Jammu & Kashmir by the Ambassador and all officers of the Embassy. He was also handed over a complete set of documents, including Prime Minister Imran Khan’s most recent Op-ed article in daily The New York Times of 30 August 2019 on this issue since the illegal Indian decision of 05 August 2019 and subsequent actions in IoJ&K.

The Lord Sheikh was encouraged to play a pro-active role in urging Indian government to immediately reverse its illegal decisions and actions as well as to proactively make efforts to diffuse the ongoing and escalating peace and security crisis in South Asia.
