Renunciation of Pakistani Nationality

Documents Required

(Seven sets to be submitted)

• Form X duly filled in (can be obtained from the Embassy or downloaded from the website)
• Seven passport-sized photographs with a white or light blue background
• Naturalization Guarantee (letter of citizenship) in original, with certified English translation if required
• CNIC/NICOP/CRC in original (lost reports not accepted)
• NADRA's email confirmation of CNIC/NICOP cancellation and online payment proof
• Photocopies of the data page and page 2 of a valid Pakistani passport
• All previous expired Pakistani passports in original with photocopies
• Additional documents as required by the Embassy on a case-by-case basis.
• Please inquire about the fee from the Embassy.

Important Notes

• Age Restriction: Children under 21 years cannot independently renounce nationality under Section 14-A, Pakistan Renunciation Act 1951
• Minor Children: Renunciation for children below 21 can only be endorsed on the father's application
• Mother's Application: Cannot include children's renunciation
• Processing Time: Up to 6 months from submission to certificate issuance
• Additional Requirements: Process may be prolonged if DGIP requires more information
