“We are proud of all overseas Pakistanis who are making positive contribution in the economic and social milieu of the host countries as well as their own homeland. Overseas Pakistanis are playing a pivotal role in bringing other countries closer to Pakistan in every sphere of life. The small Pakistani Community based in Brazil is no exception”, the Ambassador of Pakistan in Brazil His Excellency Mr. Najm us Saqib remarked today.

Addressing the Annual Pakistan Community Convention, organized at the Embassy of Pakistan, Brasilia, the Ambassador urged all Pakistanis living abroad to continue playing their pro-active role in help projecting a soft image of Pakistan. Appreciating the Community’s peaceful presence in Brazil, the Ambassador reiterated Pakistan Embassy’s full support and continued cooperation to all overseas Pakistanis.

The function started with recitation from the Holy Quran. First Secretary Mr. Azeem Ullah Cheema welcomed the Community members including Representatives of Pakistan-Brazil Association (PBA) while Defence Attache Brig Mohammad Yousaf and Senior Official Mr. Saqib Nisar briefly spoke on the importance of Community’s role in helping each other in a foreign country. President PBA Mr. Shah Faisal gave an overview of the Community’s activities in the past year. Speaking on behalf of the Community, PBA’s President thanked the Embassy of Pakistan for its continued constructive role in bringing overseas Pakistanis together and working relentlessly for their welfare.

The event was also used for electing the new team of Pakistan-Brazil Association. The sizable gathering, reposing full confidence on the present team, decided to keep the current team for another year by re-electing Mr. Shah Faisal as its President along with his old team members. The Ambassador congratulated the PBA on peacefully conducting the election and wished them a successful year ahead. Pakistan-Brazil Association was formed in the Embassy of Pakistan in August 2017. It is a Non-political Organization established for the welfare of Pakistanis based in Brazil.

During a separate meeting with the Ambassador, the Community Representatives apprised on their interaction with the Embassy Staff that deal with Consular matters including issuance of passports and visas. All issues were addressed, and problems solved on the spot. The Community Representatives lauded the new initiatives undertaken by the Government and Embassy of Pakistan in resolving their problems expeditiously.
