ValidComputerizedNationalIdentityCard(CNIC)ortheNationalIdentityCardforOverseasPakistani(NICOP)orSmartCardoriginalismandatoryforissuanceoftheMachine ReadablePassport(MRP).Theissuanceofpassportisdirectlycomplementingthegovernment'seffortstoincreasethenumberofpeopleindatabaseandinimprovementoftheoverallgovernanceofthecountry.

ApplicantmustbringthepreviousPakistanipassport,validCNIC,NICOP,atthetimeofprocesswithphotocopies.

• Noneedtomakeanappointment.Processisbasedon“FirstComeFirstServedBasis”.
• MRPcan'tbeissuedorrenewedinmailorthrougharepresentative.

• IfdateofbirthinCNICis1965,inMRPitwillbetreatedas1/1/1965.

• NoObjectionCertificateforGovernmentservants.
• FornewbornbabyoriginalvalidCNIC/SmartCard,AttestedBirthCertificate,OriginalParent’soriginalPassportandCNIC,OriginalBirthRegisterCertificate(allcopies).
• Minorsshouldbeaccompaniedbytheparents.Forissuanceofpassportsforminors(under18),thechild'smother'spassportmustbeinthehusband'sname.Thechild'spassportcanonlybeprocessedwhenhis/herparentsaremarriedinNADRAandMRPrecord.
• FeeReceipt(submit/depositfeeinUS$ in consular section of the Embassy)
