Call on the Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs by the UN Resident Coordinator in Pakistan
The newly-appointed UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Representative in Pakistan, Mr. Neil Buhne, presented his credentials to Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, at the Foreign Office today.
Welcoming Mr. Buhne, the Adviser appreciated the strong multi-faceted cooperation between the United Nations and Pakistan over the years. The Adviser said that Pakistan looked forward to enhanced collaboration and support of the UN in priority areas including Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Climate Change and repatriation of Afghan refugees.
Thanking the Government of Pakistan for its support to the UN Agencies in the country, and acknowledging Pakistan's role as a host to Afghan refugees as well as in global peacekeeping, Mr. Buhne expressed his commitment to work closely with the Government in advancing the key objectives.
