A nine member delegation of the Polish Railway manufacturing company NEWAG, led by its President Zbigniew Konieczek called on the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Mr. Tariq Fatemi today.

The Special Assistant informed the delegation about Pakistan’s priority of economic revival, fiscal discipline and development. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s vision of a peaceful neighbourhood. He stated that Pakistan was one of the most investor friendly countries in the world. Pakistan would welcome investment from Poland in railways and transport sectors which could provide mass transit for people and goods.

The Special Assistant and the Polish delegation discussed various prospects of cooperation. The delegation informed the Special Assistant that Poland was willing to provide a credit line of US $ 150 million for projects between the two countries in the railway sector. The Polish offer was welcomed by the Special Assistant.

During their two day visit, the delegation apart from meeting key stakeholders in Islamabad will also visit Lahore.
