The Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs will visit the United Kingdom from 18-20 April 2016 for the third review of Pakistan-UK Enhanced Strategic Dialogue (ESD). During the visit, the Adviser will also participate in the meeting of the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG).

Adviser Sartaj Aziz and Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond will review the progress on bilateral relations and discuss future plans to develop a deeper dialogue between the two countries. The dialogue represents a long-term commitment by both countries to work together for greater prosperity and security.

Pakistan and the UK share longstanding ties that are marked by cordiality and close cooperation in many fields. The UK is one of Pakistan’s foremost trade and development partners.

The Enhanced Strategic Dialogue, which was signed in 2011, sets out the UK and Pakistan’s strategic partnership focusing on areas including trade and business relations; development cooperation; education and security. The last review was held at the Foreign Ministers’ level in March 2014.
