Since its independence in 1960, Senegal enjoys cordial friendly relations with Pakistan. The Embassy of Pakistan was opened in Dakar in 1966. Senegal has a reasonable sized economy with potential for Pakistani exports especially in food and textile.

Pakistan and Senegal have strong relations rooted in common faith and augmented in the spirit of south -south cooperation and now both countries are engaging in various sectors like sports goods, pharmaceuticals, textile, rice and participating in trade fairs in respective countries. Senegalese Diplomats participate in training programs at the Foreign Service Academy in Islamabad.
Pakistan & The Gambia Relations
Pakistan and The Gambia enjoy cordial and friendly relations. Diplomatic relations were established in 1965. Embassy of Pakistan in Dakar is concurrently accredited to The Gambia.
There is a lot of potential for trade engagement between the two countries. A small but vibrant Pakistani Diaspora is present in The Gambia. They are engaged with the local government officials and the private sector and their contribution to The Gambian economy is well acknowledged by the Gambian government.
Pakistan has been offering various training courses to the Armed Forces personnel, Diplomats and Bankers of The Gambia in the past. Gambian officials and businessmen regularly participate in Trade exhibitions in Pakistan. Diplomats from The Gambia regularly attend the training courses for foreign diplomats at the Foreign Service Academy, Islamabad. Students from The Gambia regularly come to Pakistan to pursue higher studies in Engineering and Pharmacy.
The Pakistani Community in The Gambia is around 300-350 comprising of few private/government employees and businessmen. Pakistanis have set up small businesses relating to textiles, edible oils, juices, leather and general merchandise.
Pakistan & Sierra Leone Relations
Pakistan enjoys friendly relations with Sierra Leone. Diplomatic relations were established in 1961. Embassy of Pakistan in Dakar is concurrently accredited to Sierra Leone.
Pakistan was part of the UN Peacekeeping Mission UNAMSIL (1999-2006) in Sierra Leone helping in disbursement of humanitarian aid and building of infrastructure in the country. The government of Sierra Leone was highly appreciative of the professionalism of the Pakistani peacekeepers stationed there.
Businessmen from Sierra Leone participate regularly in trade exhibitions in Pakistan in the sectors of textiles, engineering, health and the food and agriculture exhibition in Karachi.
Pakistan has been offering various training courses in the fields of Banking, Defence and Diplomacy. Sierra Leonean diplomats regularly attend training courses at Pakistan’s Foreign Service Academy, Islamabad
Pakistani community numbers around 100-150 in Sierra Leone engaged in private jobs.
Pakistan & Guinea Relations
Guinea has cordial relations with Pakistan. Diplomatic relations were established in 1958. Embassy of Pakistan in Dakar is concurrently accredited to Guinea.
Pakistan has been offering various training courses in the fields of diplomacy and banking to Guinea. diplomats from Guinea regularly attend training courses at the Foreign Service Academy of Pakistan, Islamabad.
Regular participation of delegates from Guinea is seen in various trade fairs being held in Pakistan in the sector of health and engineering, textiles, food and agriculture
There are around 100-150 Pakistan nationals currently living and working in Guinea. Most of them are running their own businesses, i.e. rice & textile/garments, whereas a few of them are working in multinational companies.
Pakistan & Guinea Bissau Relations
Pakistan and Guinea Bissau enjoy good fraternal relations. Diplomatic relations were established in 1974. Embassy of Pakistan in Dakar is concurrently accredited to Guinea Bissau.
Diplomats from Guinea Bissau have regularly attended the mid-career training course regularly run by Foreign Service Academy Pakistan, Islamabad.
Pakistan exports rice and textiles to Guinea Bissau. Delegates from Guinea Bissau participate in various trade fairs being held in Pakistan in the sector of health and engineering, textiles, food and agriculture.
Pakistani community numbers around 30-40 in Guinea Bissau who are running their own businesses and some working in UN agencies.
Pakistan & Cabo Verde Relations
Pakistan Cabo Verde have friendly bilateral ties. Diplomatic relations were established in 1987. Embassy of Pakistan in Dakar is concurrently accredited to Cabo Verde.
There is a very small presence of Pakistanis in Cabo Verde who temporarily visit for trade. There is no permanently settled Pakistani diaspora in Cabo Verde at the moment.
A business delegation of importers, officials of Chamber and Health Regulatory Authorities from Cabo Verde participated in the 2nd Pakistan Africa Trade Development Conference (PATDC) & Single country exhibition held at Lagos, Nigeria from 23-25 November, 2021.
