Joint Ministerial Commission between the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Senegal signed in March 2001. The first session of the JMC was held in Dakar in 2017.
Pakistan Senegal Joint Business Council was set up in 2022. First session held in Feb 2022 and second in May 27, 2023. MoU was between the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Senegal on 21 July 2017 in Senegal.
There is increasing economic engagement in various sectors like textiles, pharmaceuticals, rice, sports goods, cement and agricultural machinery. Pakistan participated as Country of Honor in 29th Dakar International Trade Fair (FIDAK) in 2021. Eight Pakistani companies showcased their products in the Trade Fair. Pakistani Pharma, packaging and cosmetics companies made successful business deals during the Trade Fair. Pakistani companies participate every year now in this trade fair in Dakar. In 2023, 10 Pakistani Companies showcased sports goods, surgical instruments, textiles (Men & women clothing and baby garments), cosmetics, leather goods, furniture, jewelry and handicrafts in FIDAK 2023.
There is regular participation of Senegalese businessmen and women in trade fairs in Pakistan like TEXPO, Health & Engineering Show, and Food and Agriculture Expo.
