Foreign Minister, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, met his Kazakh counterpart Atamkulov Beibut Bakirovich on the margins of the 74thSession of the United Nations General Assembly.

Foreign Minister briefed the Kazakh Foreign Minister on the latest regional situation, including the serious human rights and humanitarian situation in the Indian Occupied Jammu &Kashmir(IOJ&K) since 5 August 2019. He said that the Office of the High Commissioner for the Human Rights; independent human rights organizations& watch-dogs; Parliamentarians in several countries; and international media all continued to express their grave concern over Indian atrocities. He emphasized that IOJ&K remained the most militarized zone in the world and the prevailing situation posed serious threat to the regional and international peace and security.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, and agreed to further enhance their cooperation in areas of mutual interest. They also agreed to closely cooperate at all multilateral forums.
