Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar received the French Ambassador Mr. Daniel Jouanneau at the Foreign Office today.
They discussed a range of bilateral issues and noted that the recent visit of Prime Minister to France had helped promote greater understanding on issues of mutual interest and to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Minister of State appreciated assistance provided by France and said that Pakistan wanted to transform its relationship into a meaningful partnership with France and the European Union. Ms. Khar said that the reconciliation process in Afghanistan should be Afghan led and Afghan owned. She also underlined the importance of the ISAF forces playing a greater role in checking cross border incursions by miscreants.
