H.E. Mr. Safdar Hayat, Ambassador of Pakistan to Romania called on H.E. Mr. Calin-Constantin-Anton Popescu-Tariceanu, President of the Senate of the Romanian Parliament on Thursday, 22 February 2018. The meeting was focused on wide-ranging aspects of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Romania. During the meeting, Ambassador Safdar Hayat also briefed Mr. Popescu-Tariceanu on the prevailing situation in Afghanistan as well as Indian atrocities in the Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir.

H.E. Mr. Calin-Constantin-Anton Popescu-Tariceanu emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation between the two countries especially in the economic, defence and cultural fields. He expressed understanding for Pakistan’s narrative on the regional situation especially concerning Afghanistan and Indian occupied Kashmir and expressed hope that challenges being confronted in the South Asian region would be settled through negotiations. President of the Romanian Senate underscored the need for resolving the Kashmir dispute on the basis of the expression of right of self-determination by the Kashmiri people.
