The Embassy of Pakistan commemorated Kashmir Solidarity Day on 05 February 2019 to express solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren of the Indian occupied Kashmir at the Embassy of Pakistan in Prague. Director of Center of Global Studies, Czech Academy of Sciences Mr. Marek Hrubek, members of the Pakistani community and personnel of the Embassy attended the event.

The event started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Messages of the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan respectively were read out to the audience.

Ambassador of Pakistan Dr. Israr Hussain while addressing the audience tersely briefed the audience about the history of Kashmir dispute. He stated that Pakistan is greatly perturbed at the reign of terrorand violence in the Indian Occupied Kashmir. He expressed grief and sorrow at the loss of innocent lives and shared sympathies for hundredsof unarmed civilians injured in the conflict. He lamented reticence of the international community and urged them to raise their voices for an early resolution of the dispute. He underlined Pakistan’s principled policy on the Kashmir dispute and said that the Government of Pakistan would continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people in IoK till the realization of their legitimate right to self determination. He recapitulated the efforts of the Government of Pakistan to apprise the United Nations and international community for resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UNSC resolutions.

Videos showing atrocities and violence perpetrated by the Indian Security Forces were played on a projector screen to sensitize the audience about plight of the innocent Kashmiris.
