The Mission observed Kashmir Solidarity Day, which was attended by the Pakistani diaspora, local notables, artists, students and journalists. The officers and staff of the Mission carried Pakistani/Azad Jammu & Kashmir flags, placards, banners and posters. On the occasion, Mission organized a seminar titled “Humanitarian Crisis in Kashmir”. The event commenced with the recitation of Holy Quran. The Algerian speakers from various walks of life who spoke at the occasion, strongly condemned Human Rights violations, assured Kashmiri people that they stand with them in their freedom struggle and hoped that they would soon achieve their righteous goal of self-determination. The messages of the Honorable President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan were also read out.
The Ambassador also addressed the gathering, highlighted significance of this day and apprised them about 5th August 2019, unilateral illegal actions of Indian Government and the current grave human rights situation in the Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. The Ambassador spoke about Indian sinister design to change the demographic structure of Jammu & Kashmir and thereby make efforts to convert a Muslim majority state into a Hindu majority state, which will never succeed. Ambassador also underscored the endeavors of our government for taking positive and bold steps towards Kashmir issue.
Ambassador urged the international community to come forward and play its role in immediate cessation of massive human rights violations in Kashmirand hold India accountable for all its misdeeds and crimes against humanity.
He reiterated Pakistan’s pledge to continue to extend diplomatic, political and moral support to Kashmiri people in their freedom struggle against illegal Indian occupation.
The documentaries on Kashmir were also displayed projecting plight of the Kashmiris of IIOK and human rights violations by Indian forces.
